As canna legalization continues across America, so do canna arrests and convictions. Michael Thompson was sentenced to 40-60 years in prison for selling 3lbs of canna, and served a total of 26 years before Governor Whitmer granted him clemency in 2021. An estimated 40,000 people are still incarcerated in the US for canna offenses while canna-business has grown into a billion-dollar US industry. Haley Elizabeth Anderson directed the film along with Kyle Thrash, and Mary Bailey is the Managing Director of The Last Prisoners Project.
